FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - As 4th of July celebrations ramp up, local police are reminding residents to reserve 911 calls for true emergencies only.

Dispatchers say 911 should be used for situations such as a fire, serious injury, dangerous activity or any life-threatening incident.

People calling to report fireworks being heard — without an associated emergency — are asked to use the department’s non-emergency line instead.
