Missing child found dead in neighbor’s pool, police say
MENANDS, N.Y. (Gray News) – A missing 7-year-old boy was found dead in a neighbor’s pool, two houses down from where he went missing, police said.
Harbe Nagi went missing from a graduation party late Sunday afternoon, WRGB reported.
Police said in a statement that the boy was visiting the area and had limited familiarity with his surroundings.
Officials said the situation was magnified because Harbe was autistic and nonverbal.
Harbe was known to wander and explore and had a strong interest in water, the outdoors and climbing, police said. He enjoyed music, specifically the song “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
WRGB reported the boy’s uncle made a post on Facebook Tuesday saying Harbe had been found.
“First thing I want to say is we express our condolences to the family. Eight o’clock this morning, Harbe was found deceased in a neighboring pool,” Menands police Lt. Kevin Schwebke confirmed.
