Life360 is a location sharing app to stay connected with family and friends.
Life360 allows you to create "circles" to track the important people in your life. You can even organize people into groups. One for mom dad and the kids, another for cousins and other extended family, even one for your nanny or babysitter.
If you've ever sent or received a "where are you" or "when will you be home" text, and lets face it that's all of us, Life360 lets you create zones around your home, school and work to get notifications when family and friends arrive or leave.
One feature we like is that location information, messages and places are tied to specific circles so if you need to ask your daughter to pick up a pound of ground beef it goes to your family circle and not your best friends.
One thing to be aware of, and something Life360 even points out, continued usage of location services can drain your battery.
Company officials say they have figured out a way around the problem, and we didn't notice a huge issue, but it's something to pay attention to on your phone.
Life360 is free to download and available on Apple and Android. There is a paid upgrade that adds a few features for 5 bucks a month but we recommend sticking with the free version to start.
