One of the only people to witness a deadly train, truck crash says he believes the driver purposely got hit.
"I wasn't so much scared, as I couldn't register what exactly was going on until I took the time again to look and I saw it," says Troy Blevins.
One person is dead following a Saturday morning crash that happened off of 60th Ave. S. in Moorhead. Only 200 yards away from the railroad tracks, Troy Blevins wasn't sure what he saw.
"I didn't hear it blow up, I just saw it, and then I saw that the car was there and then you heard it, wow, scary," says Blevins.
Blevins says he was pulled off on the side of the road and that's when a truck caught his eye. He says it stopped on the tracks.
"I thought maybe he's just backing up and then I looked back again and there was just a huge explosion," says Blevins.
That's when he pulled out his phone and took a few pictures. He says he didn't realize the train hit the truck until he looked at the picture and saw the front end of the vehicle.
He then called 9-1-1, he says because of the flat landscape and the crossing arms, he can only come to one conclusion
"I hate to say anything unless the families know what's going on, it sure honestly looked to be that someone tried to do that, it's the only thing I can think of that they stopped, it made me ill, sad," says Blevins.
He says he's glad he was out there or no one may have seen the crash.
