FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) The red and green warming house has moved in and ice is formed in downtown Fargo near Main Avenue and Broadway.
The Fargo Park District is aiming to get the new rink named "Downtown on Ice presented by Bank of the West" up by New Years Eve.
The 70 by 70 foot rink would be open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the holiday week and weekends. Then starting January 4th it would be open 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. during Monday through Friday.
The rink is free to skate on and no skate rentals will be offered. Also no hockey will be played on the ice.
Fargo Park District Director of Parks, Dave Leker says they are currency working on making the ice thicker, finalizing things with the electric and gas work along with finalizing the gas lines for the fire pit.
The rink was initially planned to open as early as November, but was delayed due to unseasonably warm weather.
The park is run by the Fargo Park District and called Downtown on Ice.
