Wentz, Goedert place friendly wager on Dakota Marker game

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- Rivalry week often brings out the friendly wagers between friends and coworkers.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will be getting in on some of that action this weekend when his North Dakota State Bison play teammate Dallas Goedert's South Dakota State Jackrabbits.

Wentz connected with his former SDSU foe on Sunday for his first touchdown back from injury. It was also Goedert's first career NFL touchdown.

While they have clearly built a new bond as teammates, they will still be divided on Saturday's.

"Yea we'll have a friendly wager," Wentz said Wednesday when asked about the rivalry week game back home. "I'm sure you guys will see about it when he's wearing something NDSU next week after we take the Dakota Marker from him," he added to laughs from the media.

Wentz was undefeated in Dakota Marker games. Including the 28-7 win in 2015 when he went 19-of-27 and threw for 183 yards and one touchdown. Adding one on the ground as well.

Also of note, a sophomore Dallas Goedert had four catches in that one for 63 yards and the Jackrabbits lone touchdown.
