GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- The University of North Dakota football team is back to work after collecting road win number one of the season with No. 9 Montana State set to visit the Alerus Center.
Three of UND's four wins this season have been by four points or less including last Saturday's 30-26 win over Cal Poly.
UND Head Coach Bubba Schweigert on Monday said he understands his team will be in close games the rest of the season, adding all he can ask of the team is to have an opportunity to win down the stretch.
"Obviously we'd like to win by two and three scores, but that's not a reality. We're going to be in tight football games and you've got to be able to respond in those situations," Schweigert said.
In the week leading up to the game against Cal Poly Schweigert said the game was not just important for the season but for the program.
He's gotten his players to believe every game from here on out are equally important.
"Really regardless of our record, at this point in the season, October, late October, November, every single game is pretty important to us," Defensive Lineman Jaelen Johnson said.
The Fighting Hawks (4-3) host No. 9 Montana St. (5-2) Saturday at noon.
