GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- The University of North Dakota Football team wore shoulder pads for the first time during Fall Camp Sunday completing their third practice.
Head Coach Bubba Schweigert speaking after Sunday's practice said he wants to see more consistency. Schweigert felt the energy was good during Friday and Saturday's workouts, and was good for a majority of Sunday but noted it fell off towards the end of practice.
Schweigert said the challenge to his players will be to make sure the energy remains high throughout the rest of camp.
"We always know the first day is really easy, everybody is excited, the second day is probably still excited, and then you get to the third day and now it's more like work," Schweigert said. "We've got to really mature and continue to have that high energy throughout every period of practice."
The Fighting Hawks will continue Fall Camp Monday before their first off day Tuesday.
UND is set to open the 2019 season August 31st at home against Drake.
