FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- Professional Kevin Stanek led the Bobcat North Dakota Open after 36 holes and rain forced tournament officials to call off the third round handing Stanek the win.
Stanek, from Bellevue, Nebraska, shot a 13-under during the two rounds, two shots clear of the field.
"I'm pretty ecstatic about it to be honest," Stanek said after the decision to call the tournament. "I really wanted to battle it out with my buddies out there that I've been playing with all summer. This feels really good. I really love this golf course."
Stanek earned a $10,000 check and entry into the PGA Tour Qualifier School.
University of North Dakota golfer Pat Traynor won the amateur division. Traynor shot 4-under over 36 holes.
