VERMILLION, S.D. (NDSU Athletics) -- The North Dakota State men’s basketball team fell 75-65 at South Dakota on Thursday night in Summit League play.
Junior Tyson Ward scored a career-high 28 points to lead NDSU, making five three-pointers. He also added six rebounds and two steals.
The Bison led for more than half the game, going ahead by as many as nine points in the first half. NDSU led 37-29 with 18 minutes remaining in the game before the Coyotes rattled off a 9-0 run to go ahead 38-37.
After Ward hit a three to put NDSU up 40-38, South Dakota outscored the Bison 37-20 over the final 15 minutes of the contest.
South Dakota shot 50 percent in the second half, while NDSU made just 30 percent after halftime.
The Bison play at Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. CT.
