South Dakota State Tops Bison Men’s Basketball, 87-69

BROOKINGS, S.D. (NDSU Athletics) -- Mike Daum scored 30 points and David Jenkins added 25 for the South Dakota State men’s basketball team as the Jackrabbits posted an 87-69 win over North Dakota State on Thursday night inside Frost Arena.

Daum grabbed 17 rebounds and made 11-of-15 shots in the contest.

NDSU junior Tyson Ward had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four assists to lead the Bison. Deng Geu scored 12 points for NDSU, and Cameron Hunter tallied 11 points and four assists.

South Dakota State shot nearly 62 percent in the first half to build a 44-25 advantage at halftime.

The Jackrabbits are now 98-6 at Frost Arena since the 2011-12 season. Two of those six home losses were to the Bison – an 80-69 NDSU win in the 2016-17 season, and an 85-77 Bison victory in the 2013-14 season.

The Bison play next at Oral Roberts on Saturday at 7 p.m.
