Pina's walk-off grand slam powers RedHawks past Texas

FARGO, N.D. (American Association) -- Fargo-Moorhead third baseman Leobaldo Pina hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the RedHawks a stunning 6-3 walk-off win over Texas.

The RedHawks jumped on the AirHogs early as they plated a run in the bottom of the first inning thanks to an RBI single from Tim Colwell.

Fargo-Moorhead would increase their lead to 2-0 in the third as Colwell came around to score on a double from Devan Ahart.

Texas would come storming back in the fifth as they took the lead at 3-2 via a Song Yunqi two-run home run and a ground out off the bat of Jonathan Moroney.

The score stayed that way until the ninth when Pina’s home run gave the RedHawks the big victory.

Colwell went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Ahart had a double and two walks in a 1-for-2 day.

Fargo-Moorhead reliever Geoff Broussard threw a scoreless inning and earned his first win of the year. Broussard allowed two hits in the four batters that he faced.
