ST. LOUIS (NDSU Athletics) -- North Dakota State running back Kobe Johnson was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week by the league office Sunday, Nov. 3.
Johnson, a freshman from Lawrenceville, Ga., had 241 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in North Dakota State’s 56-17 win at Youngstown State. It was the fifth-most all-purpose yards by an NDSU player in a Division I game.
Johnson notched his second career 100-yard rushing game with six carries for a season-high 103 yards including a 75-yard touchdown. In his first game returning kickoffs, he had three for 138 yards including a 94-yard touchdown that is tied for sixth longest in school history.
No. 1-ranked North Dakota State (9-0, 5-0 MVFC) is scheduled to host Western Illinois (1-8, 1-4 MVFC) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the annual Harvest Bowl game.
