NDSU’s Kobe Johnson Valley Football Special Teams Player of the Week

North Dakota State running back Kobe Johnson was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week by the league office Sunday, Nov. 3.

Johnson, a freshman from Lawrenceville, Ga., had 241 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in North Dakota State’s 56-17 win at Youngstown State. It was the fifth-most all-purpose yards by an NDSU player in a Division I game.

Johnson notched his second career 100-yard rushing game with six carries for a season-high 103 yards including a 75-yard touchdown. In his first game returning kickoffs, he had three for 138 yards including a 94-yard touchdown that is tied for sixth longest in school history.

No. 1-ranked North Dakota State (9-0, 5-0 MVFC) is scheduled to host Western Illinois (1-8, 1-4 MVFC) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the annual Harvest Bowl game.
