NDSU Adds North Carolina A&T to Complete 2020 Football Schedule

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State has completed its 2020 football schedule with the addition of a non-conference game against North Carolina A&T announced Wednesday, Jan. 16.

The one-game contract is for Sept. 19 at the Fargodome, the third week of the 2020 season following NDSU’s season-opener at Oregon and home-opener against Drake.

North Carolina A&T went 10-2 in 2018 and won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for the fourth time in five seasons. The Aggies have won three of the four Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl games including a 24-22 win over Alcorn State in 2018.

N.C. A&T has been ranked 26 straight weeks in the STATS FCS Top 25 and in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll for 49 consecutive weeks. The Aggies are 22-2 over the past two seasons and have beaten an FBS opponent each of the past three years – Kent State in 2016, Charlotte in 2017 and East Carolina in 2018.

The 2020 season is the first year of expansion to 11 teams in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, which means each member team will miss two other conference opponents in the two-year scheduling rotation while maintaining an eight-game conference schedule.

NDSU will not play Western Illinois or Southern Illinois in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The Bison will play nine straight games in 2020 before a bye in Week 10, but NDSU will have a traditional early bye week to be determined in September 2021.
