Chris Klieman took off for Manhattan, Kansas with his family Tuesday night ahead of his scheduled press conference Wednesday, December 12th.
According to the Kansas State football Instagram page, the Klieman's boarded a private jet around 8:00 p.m. in Fargo.
North Dakota State Director of Football Operations Hank Jacobs was with the Klieman family on the flight.
Our sister station WIBW-TV was at the Kansas Jet Center when Klieman landed. As was a crowd of purple.
The first man to greet Klieman was K-State Athletic Director Gene Taylor. He was waiting at the bottom of the steps with a big hug for Klieman.
Klieman spoke with WIBW's Ann Olamiju, telling her it will be a quick 12-15 hour trip to town but expressing how excited he is to start getting involved in the community and to meet his guys.
"I'm so thrilled to be here and meeting everybody," Klieman told Olamiju. "I'm excited to meet all the players. Meet the staff and embrace the community. I'm a big community guy."
"Gonna make sure these kids know I'm going to battle for them, care for them and challenge them."
