Klieman updates running back situation ahead of National Championship

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- North Dakota State football head coach Chris Klieman gave an update on the health of his running backs Monday.

Senior Lance Dunn left the quarterfinal game against Colgate in the first half with an elbow injury and missed the semifinal against South Dakota State.

Klieman said Dunn came back from the five days the team had off over Christmas and feeling better.

"He's practiced each of the last three days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and has looked really good, to the point where he won't have the brace on Saturday," Klieman said.

"I would assume, and I'm planning on a pretty full speed Lance Dunn."

The same could not be said for senior Bruce Anderson and sophomore Seth Wilson.

Both Anderson and Wilson exited the semifinal win over South Dakota State early with leg injuries. Wilson has been dealing with a lingering hamstring issue.

"We'll go this afternoon and see how much those guys can do. They're going to try and move around a little bit more today," Klieman said.

Klieman said the two would be questionable for the game.

"But I'm hopeful," he added.
