WESTFIELD, Ind. (Valley News Live) -- The Fargo Little League team ended its tournament run to the Little League World Series with a loss to Iowa in the Midwest Regional championship game.
The Iowa state champion from Grandview Little League in Des Moines defeated Fargo 7-4 Saturday in the championship game in Westfield, Indiana.
Fargo Little League was hoping to become the first team from North Dakota to make it to the LLWS.
Iowa jumped to a 7-0 lead before Fargo put together a sixth-inning rally, scoring four runs in the final frame.
Fargo won every game in the regional leading to the championship game, including a 4-0 win over Iowa earlier in the week.
Grandview Little League will represent the Midwest Region in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, beginning Thursday.
