VERMILLION, S.D. (NDSU Athletics) -- Hayley Dotseth had a match-high 12 kills, hit .312 and six service aces to lead South Dakota to a 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 25-17) win over North Dakota State in a Summit League match played Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
NDSU (8-19, 6-10 SL) and its Summit League tournament hopes depend on the Omaha at Oral Roberts outcome. If Omaha wins, the Bison would qualify for the six-team field. An ORU win would advance the Golden Eagles and North Dakota, which held a 2-0 season series advantage over North Dakota State. Omaha leads Oral Roberts 2-1 in Tulsa
South Dakota (19-9, 13-3 SL) finished match outhitting NDSU .259 to .096. Claire Gerdes followed Dotseth with nine kills and hit .462, and Emily Loschen had nine kills. Madison Jurgens had 37 assists, while Anne Rasmussen came up with a match-high 17 digs.
Ally Murphy matched a career-high seven kills to pace North Dakota State. Emily Halverson had five kills and four blocks, while Kalli Hegerle finished with 21 assists, eight digs and four blocks. Abbi Klos added 13 digs.
