FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- North Dakota State's quarterback room just got a little less crowded as third-year quarterback Holden Hotchkiss has made the decision to transfer.
Valley News Live has confirmed the news first reported by Ross Uglem of Bison Report.
Hotchkiss was named the backup to Easton Stick in 2018 appearing in eight games. He completed 50% of his passes and rushed for one touchdown.
The Bison now have three quarterbacks on the roster. Junior transfer Zeb Noland, Sophomore Noah Sanders, and Redshirt Freshman Trey Lance. Logan Graetz from River Falls, Wisconsin is slated to join the Bison in the fall as a true freshman.
Entering Spring Practice Head Coach Matt Entz did not list a starting quarterback and said the position was open competition.
With Hotchkiss transferring it opens up a scholarship for Entz.
According to Uglem, Hotchkiss plans to return to his home state of Florida with hopes to return to playing Division I Football.
