FARGO, N.D. (American Association) -- The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks used a five-run third inning to drop the Sioux City Explorers 7-3.

Sioux City struck first with three runs in the top of the second inning; one from a second baseman Jay Baum sac fly and two more from a center fielder Luis Durango single.

In the third, RedHawks center fielder Devan Ahart singled home right fielder Tim Colwell to put the Hawks on the board. Part of a big night for Ahart, who went 3-for-4 in the series opener.

Third baseman Leobaldo Pina pushed two more across with a triple in the third and designated hitter Keury De La Cruz added two more with a home run to right center field.

The RedHawks tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning as first baseman Charlie Valerio singled home Brennan Metzger and Ahart.
