Anderson named MVFC Offensive Player of the Week

ST LOUIS (NDSU Athletics) -- North Dakota State running back Bruce Anderson was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week by the league office Sunday, Sept. 2.

Anderson, a senior from Ruskin, Fla., rushed 11 times for a career-high 185 yards averaging 10.2 yards per carry with two touchdowns in North Dakota State's 49-3 home win over Cal Poly.

He scored on runs of 10 and 86 yards and finished with 239 all-purpose yards including kickoff returns of 23 and 24 yards and one reception for seven yards. It was Anderson's fifth career 100-yard rushing game.

North Dakota State (1-0) is scheduled to host North Alabama at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. The Lions, a first-year Division I program, beat defending Big Sky Conference champion Southern Utah 34-30 in their season-opener.
