Amy Olson Ties for 2nd at LPGA’s Evian Championship

Evian-les-Bains, France (NDSU Athletics) -- Former North Dakota State University standout Amy (Anderson) Olson finished in a tie for second at the Evian Championship on Sunday, claiming her highest LPGA event finish in the final major championship of the season.

The Oxbow, N.D., native shot 69-65-65-74—273 to finish at 11-under par for the tournament. American Angela Stanford shot 12-under par to win by one stroke.

Olson won an NCAA-best 20 collegiate tournaments in her time at NDSU from 2009-13. She was named the NCAA Elite 88 award winner in 2011 as the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the national championship site. Olson holds NDSU's season (72.8) and career (73.2) scoring average records.

Olson entered the Evian Championship at No. 59 on the LPGA money list this season

Olson's brother Nathan Anderson, an NDSU golfer from 2009-13, served as her caddy for the tournament.
