Half a million breast cancer deaths have been avoided

NBC - Some good news about the fight against breast cancer.

The latest US estimates that more than half a million deaths from the disease have been avoided over the past three decades.

Researchers credit the wide use of mammograms and improvements in breast cancer treatments for saving women's lives.

However, only about half of women over 40 get regular mammograms.

These findings come from the University of Colorado, Duke University and the University of mMichigan.
