Woman taken to hospital after hitting deer with vehicle

Hubbard Co., Minn. (Valley News Live) A reminder for drivers to watch out for deer on area roads after a woman was sent to the hospital for a car vs. deer crash.

It happened on Hwy. 71 in Hubbard County around 7 Wednesday morning.

31-year-old Kori Nelson was heading east when she hit the deer. She was taken to the Park Rapids hospital for her injuries, but she is expected to be ok.

Authorities are reminding people to watch for deer as they're more active this time of the year. You're also reminded to not swerve to avoid hitting a deer, because you could hit oncoming traffic or roll into the ditch, causing more severe injuries.
