Woman found dead inside St. Paul home

ST PAUL, Minn. (KARE 11)-- St. Paul Police say a woman was found dead inside a Frogtown home in St. Paul, Friday night. There were two children in the home who weren't hurt. One man is in custody following the incident.

This is St. Paul's 13th homicide this year.

Police say they received a call at about 9:25 p.m. reporting a suspicious situation at a home in the 500 block of Charles Avenue. The caller said a mother didn't pick her children up from daycare earlier in the day and reported that no one was answering the door at the woman's home.

When officers arrived, they saw blood inside the home, and a woman who was severely hurt. The children were located in another room unharmed.

Medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Investigators are gathering evidence and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to positively identify her and determine her cause of death.
