Woman facing potential charges after petting monkeys at Dakota Zoo, according to police

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR)- Bismarck Police say charges are pending for a woman accused of going over a fence to touch monkeys at the Dakota Zoo Friday night.

BPD crime analyst Lynn Wanner says the 18-year-old Mandan woman is accused of going over the outer cage of the enclosure and touching the monkey. Police say there was a Snapchat video of the incident and someone showed it to zoo staff.

Wanner says the case has been sent to the city attorney’s office for review.
