FARGO, N.D. - (Valley News Live) For those awake at the crack of dawn Saturday, they got to see a treat if they were looking up at the sky.

An Iowa woman broke three hot air balloon records.

Kim “Wooge” Magee launched a cloud hopper balloon from the West Fargo Fairgrounds on Saturday at 8 a.m. She landed 60 miles away in Fergus Falls.

Magee was in a very small hot air balloon that doesn’t have a basket.

She set new distance and altitude records for a female pilot.

The records were kept by the FAI Ballooning Commission and an observer was on hand to watch Magee.

Magee chose North Dakota because of the cold temperatures and low wind.
