A woman is facing several charges after she led Barnes County Sheriff's deputy on a short chase, Friday night.

Officials say a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation on County Rd 22, near 109 Ave SE. The car stopped initially but as the deputy approached the vehicle, the car took off.

A pursuit was initiated and after approximately seven miles, the car came to a stop at the city of Sanborn. The female driver fled from the vehicle into a nearby tree row.

Officials were able to track the female down and take her into custody without incident.

She was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Other criminal charges are pending.
