West Fargo Police, Cass County Sheriff's Office offering $1,000 reward after deputy's pistol, other firearms stolen

WEST FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) The West Fargo Police Department and Cass County Sheriff's Office are looking for help tracking down multiple firearms that were stolen from the Westport Beach/Eagle Run area, including a deputy's duty weapon.

Both agencies are contributing to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone involved in the theft of firearms.

They held a joint news conference today at the West Fargo Police Department to answer questions and give more details about the search that was announced to the public in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Authorities said the Cass County deputy's pistol was taken from his vehicle, and they believe it was related to a string of break-ins in that area two weeks ago. A rifle and shotgun were also stolen from that area.

The West Fargo Police Department will be leading the investigation, and if you have any information you are urged to contact them. You can reach them by email at facebooktips@westfargond.gov or by calling (701) 433-5500.

We've also included our first report on the vehicle break-ins in that area in a link attached to this story.
