Weather dry and warmer to round out workweek

For both days last weekend, most of the area saw high temperatures in the lower 50s. We were a little warmer with lower 60s for highs for Monday and Tuesday. These temperatures were well below our average high of 71 degrees.

We also stayed wet with rain last weekend and scattered showers as we started the week. Across the viewing area, most locations picked up 0.5 to 2 inches of rain.

As we round out the week, the weather pattern looks to change. We will still be a little cooler than normal for Wednesday, but mostly sunny skies will be the story across the region for the first time in awhile.

The sunshine will continue as we finish the workweek and enter the holiday weekend. Temperatures will also be on the rise with highs reaching the lower- to mid-70s during this timeframe.

While most areas should see the sunshine, there will still be a chance of showers across portions on the viewing area over the next couple of days. The best chance for clouds and showers on Thursday will be in the north, mainly along the international border. Then on Friday, we will see a chance of showers in our southern viewing area, closer to the South Dakota border.
