FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) For dozens of people, their alarm clocks were set early for a walk benefiting cancer patients on Saturday.

The Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center Home Run Walk was held in downtown Fargo.

All the money raised goes towards patients and their families, according to Sanford.

“It's a great event for people who've had treatment and who are patients or family members or who've known someone who has passed from cancer,” Emma Tupa, a development officer for the Sanford Health Foundation, said. “It's sort of an emotional event.”

There was a family friendly 5k and a one-mile route.

Tupa said she appreciated the event sponsors and all who participated for making this a successful walk.
