DETROIT LAKES, M.N. (KVLY) Formal charges have now been filed against a Minnesota woman accused of giving more than just massages at a Detroit Lakes parlor.
60-year-old Jinlan Li, of rural Hawley, is charged with two felony counts of solicitation of prostitution, and one felony count of disorderly house.
Court documents say since 2015, Detroit Lakes Police have received numerous reports of possible prostitution and/or sex trafficking occurring at Sunny Asian Health Massage. Individuals admitted to receiving manual stimulation of their genitals at the end of a paid massage in two of those reports to police.
Documents say on Sept. 19, 2019, undercover agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension went to the business and purchased massages to determine if sexual favors were being offered as part of a paid massage.
One of the agents requested a one-hour massage, and Li later escorted the agent down the hall to a private room. Once the agent was undressed and ready for his massage, documents say Li came into the room and began massaging his shoulders.
Documents go on to say another woman soon entered the room and started massaging the agent's lower back and rear-end on his bare skin. Li and the other female then asked the agent to turn over and lay on his back. Documents say the agent's crotch area was initially covered with a towel. The second female rubbed the agent's leg and soon began touching his genitals. When asked if he wanted his genitals massaged, the agent declined.
Li was in the room at the time of the offer, and documents say Li bent over several times and allowed her breasts to press against the agent's face.
On the same day and around the same time, another undercover agent purchased a massage and was offered sexual favors by another female employee of Li.
Li is to be seen by a judge today at 2:30.
If convicted, Li could spend up to 16 years in prison.
