Fargo, ND (Valley News Live) - UPDATE: The names have been released from Wednesday's fatal crash near West Fargo.
According to North Dakota Highway Patrol, 34 year old Levi Burd from West Fargo was the driver of the U-Haul truck who was killed in the crash.
Another West Fargo resident, 29 year old Kristen Johnson, was driving the Jeep that officials say hit the U-Haul.
Charges against Johnson are pending.
At approximately 7:45 am, law enforcement was notified of a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of 32nd Ave W & 35th St. W, two miles west of West Fargo.
A U-Haul Box truck traveling westbound on 32nd Ave. West was struck on the drivers’ side by a Jeep Cherokee traveling northbound on 35th St. West. The collision occurred in the middle of the intersection. After colliding, both vehicles entered the ditch, northwest of the intersection. The U-Haul came to rest on its passenger side, facing east. The Jeep came to rest upright, facing southwest.
The 29 YOA female driver of the Jeep was injured in the crash and transported by FM Ambulance to Sanford Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. She had been seat belted and the airbags deployed in her vehicle.
The 34-year-old male driver of the Ford U-Haul was killed in the crash. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP. The names of both parties will not be released until the morning of July 11th.
