Three North Dakota cities have been named the recipients of the 2019 Community Challenge Grants from AARP.

West Fargo, Jamestown, and Forman were awarded nearly $16,000 between the three cities to fund "quick action" projects to help the communities make improvements to support residents of all ages.

West Fargo received the most money, being awarded $10,900 to install games in the new plaza along Sheyenne Street.

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department was awarded $3,000 to fund a pop-up demonstration bike path to gauge public support for a new path.

And Forman will be receiving $1,700 to create a public green space on a vacant lot in the City's Main Street.

This is the third year for the program and there were a total of 1,661 applications filed and nearly $1.6 million distributed.
