MOORHEAD, MN (Valley News Live) - Thousands of students in Moorhead, both current and former, are being impacted by a data breach.
In August, both Fargo and West Fargo learned their students were affected by a nationwide data breach involving an online assessment platform called AIMSweb version 1.0 owned by the Pearson Clinical Assessment company.
Moorhead Public Schools has discovered nearly 10,000 of their own students are being impacted by the same data breach as they used the software from 2007 through 2016.
The breach has released first and last names, student numbers and birthdays.
School officials say no emails were compromised.
Pearson Clinical Assessment is offering free credit monitoring to affected families and these families have been notified by the district.
