Suspect arrested in rural Walsh County death

WALSH COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) UPDATE (10:20 p.m.):

A suspect has been arrested in the death of an adult woman in Walsh County.

Walsh County Sheriff Ron Jurgens says Steven Donald Aune, 65, has been arrested in connection with the death.

The sheriff adds this is not believed to a random incident and an autopsy to determine the cause of death is underway.

Deputies were dispatched at around 10 a.m. Wednesday to a home in rural Adams, North Dakota, for a disturbance call.

According to the sheriff, the victim left the scene before law enforcement arrived. '

She was later transported by private vehicle to the First Care Health Center in Park River, where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation is underway into a suspicious death in the Northern Valley.

Authorities confirm that its underway in rural Walsh County.

The Sheriff's Office there says an adult female was transported to First Care Health Center in Park River, where she later died at the hospital.

The woman isn't being identified and the area where she was found is considered an active crime scene.

A spokesperson added that the the public shouldn't feel threatened.
