St. Paul police investigating 7th homicide of 2019

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (WCCO)- Police in St. Paul say they’re investigating after 33-year-old Mathew Richard Schramm was found dead in his home in the West Seventh neighborhood Monday.

Officers were called to the residence on the 1700 block of Benson Avenue just before 5 p.m. on a report of an assault. They arrived to find Schramm unresponsive. St. Paul firefighters came soon after and pronounced him dead.

Police have spoken to people who knew the victim, as well as the person who called 911. They say the investigation is ongoing.

The results of Schramm’s autopsy have yet to be released by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office.

This is St. Paul’s seventh homicide of 2019.
