South Fargo woman warns neighbors to lock doors after break-in

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -- You may want to lock your doors before you go to bed tonight. A woman contacted our Whistleblower Hotline after a man broke into her home and vehicles in south Fargo. Surveillance video catches the man as he scoured the neighborhood on Saturday morning.

Many in the Pointe West Neighborhood are still uneasy.

"He had opened up the truck for what we can understand," said Tammy Teutsch from south Fargo. "Then, from there, he must have noticed the garage door openers."

Someone had gone through the center console of Teutsch's truck.

"After he left, he closed our garage door, that was kind of him, and then proceeded to go west in our neighborhood from what we could tell," said Teutsch.

Teutsch says that her neighbors saw the man on their surveillance footage. As of what we know right now, her house was the only one that had items stolen.

Neighbors found a white man walking up to their houses. Teutsch's daughter's bag was on his back.

The bag had $500 worth of stuff in it. There were sunglasses, credit cards, prescriptions and her daughter's only car key.

Teutsch says that now she's installing cameras outside her home.

"I did hear on one of the messaging sites the car was locked, and they still got hit too, and this is a different neighborhood at that time, so I guess it doesn't matter," said Teutsch. "Neighbors just be aware."

If you have any information, you are asked to contact the police.
