A snow emergency has been declared for the city of East Grand Forks.

The East Grand Forks Police Department says that snow removal crews have been pulled from the streets and will start again at 4:00 Saturday morning.

The department says because of the continued snowfall and high wind conditions, keeping the primary streets open was the priority for Friday. Side streets and alleys have not yet been plowed.

Saturday morning, the primary streets will be redone and the plow crews will work until all primary, secondary and side streets have been plowed at least once.

Alleys will not be plowed unless there is a significant increase in snowfall.
