Minnesota troopers responded to 173 crashes during snowstorm

MOORHEAD, M.N. (Valley News Live) Minnesota State Patrol is reporting that troopers responded to 173 crashes across the state during Saturday's snowstorm.

Out of those crashes, which happened from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 18 resulted in injuries, yet none were serious or deadly.

“Several vehicles still sliding off the road in [western central Minnesota],” Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow tweeted Saturday night.

Sgt. Grabow said two accidents on I-94 east of Barnesville where caused by motorists who were “driving too fast for obvious poor conditions. One had been in the ditch twice today.”

According to state patrol, a total of 284 vehicles spun out and slid into a ditch. There were also 10 jackknifed semis.
