Shades of Ireland Tour stops to kiss Blarney Stone
For more than 200 years, millions have climbed over 120 steps to discover the gift of eloquence! And that's what our very own Valley News Team's Andrea Larson discovered after she kissed the famous Blarney Stone at the Blarney Stone Castle in Ireland!
Valley News Live partnered with Collete Travel for the trip.
Once upon a time, visitors had to be held by the ankles and lowered head first over the battlements to kiss the stone! But today, tourists kiss the stone with a little more caution by leaning backward and grabbing onto poles.
The prize? Those who kiss the stone receive the gift of never running out of the right words!
The Shades of Ireland Tour also hiked along the Cliggs of Moher. The tourists say it was extremely windy, but a lot of fun!
The group's guide cautioned not to walk too close to the edge because the wind is so strong that it can push you right over. On Wednesday morning, the winds reached about 40 miles per hour at times.
The Shades of Ireland group consists of 44 tourists this year, who will be back on Oct. 18.
