FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The Roger Maris Cancer Center held a ribbon cutting and open house Thursday to unveil its new infusion center.
After a short program where a patients shared their stories, folks could visit a few of the open rooms.
The new center is located in the space that was formerly home to the emergency department at the Sanford Broadway location.
The new space features 40 infusion rooms, which is up from 30 rooms.
This relocation is part of an overall expansion and renovation of the cancer center to accommodate increasing patient volumes.
Stephanie Ogaard, the manager of the center, says the additional rooms are a much needed change.
“We've been working out of a space that is much too small so we're just really excited to have much more space. We're going to be much more efficient and be able to see many more patients and just improve our care over all of our patients," said Ogaard.
Sanford Health is one of the largest health care systems in the nation with 44 hospitals and nearly 1,400 physicians in 9 states.
