Reports show taxpayers helped foot the bill for 'Tonight Show' broadcast in MN

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) Minnesota taxpayers helped foot the bill when Jimmy Fallon broadcast "The Tonight Show" from Minneapolis as part of last year's Super Bowl festivities.

Minnesota Public Radio News obtained information via a public records request that shows the state paid the NBC show $267,000 through a rebate program.

Some of the program board members disagreed with paying the show because NBC was shooting the Super Bowl anyway and needed no incentive to come.
