Update: One person is dead after small aircraft crashes, goes up in flames at Hawley Airport

Hawley, Minn. (Valley News Live) Crews are rushing to the scene of a plane crash at the Hawley Airport, that resulted in a small aircraft going up in flames. At least one person has died.

Valley News Live spoke with the Clay County Sheriff who confirmed a "plane" did go down. Our reporter on the scene says that emergency personnel will only call it a single person aircraft.

Viewers are sending in photos, showing the aircraft engulfed in flames.

Initial reports show the incident happened around 12:30 Thursday afternoon.

The FAA has been notified and is already trying to contact local authorities.

It's unknown at this time how many people were inside the plane.
