Bismarck, ND (Valley News Live) The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has been notified of a Produced Water spill in McKenzie County.
The spill occurred near Watford City on January 11th and was reported on the 13th on a well pad operated by Landtech Enterprises.
The cause of the spill, which released 290 barrels worth of produced water, is reported to be a valve failure.
Four barrels worth of the oil and gas byproduct migrated off the pad and impacted pasture land.
The NDDEQ is inspecting the site and will monitor the investigation and remediation.
