Police looking for Moorhead man following high-speed chase

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) -- UPDATE: Police have arrested 29-year-old Steven Michael Foster, the man that led officials on a high-speed chase a week ago.

Officials say around 4 p.m. Foster was identified by a citizen at an apartment complex in the 800 block of 40th Avenue South.

Foster was arrested without incident.

Charges for the pursuit last week were requested through the Clay County Attorney's Office last week.

Moorhead Police says they would like to thank the community for their assistance.


Officials are looking for a man that led them on a high-speed chase Saturday.

It happened around 5:17 p.m. Saturday.

A Moorhead officer in the area of I-94 and 8th St. saw 29-year-old Steven Foster of Moorhead driving a vehicle and cutting in front of other motorists.

Officials tried stopping the vehicle on I-94 near 20 Street. The vehicle fled eastbound on I-94, reaching speeds of 100 mph.

A Clay County Deputy deployed Stop Sticks. Foster lost control of the vehicle and hit the median barrier near mile marker 10. The driver fled into a cornfield.

A female passenger in the vehicle was detained for a short time before being released, according to authorities.

A Moorhead K9 Team and Cass County drone team were used to try and locate the driver that fled. The driver was not located.

No one was injured during this incident, and no arrests have been made.

Foster has active felony warrants for his arrest in Clay and Cass Counties for drug-related offenses.
