Police detain multiple people after overnight search near MSUM
UPDATE: A man is in jail after a car chase and foot pursuit in south Moorhead.
It started around 1:30 Monday morning when Clay County deputies spotted a reported stolen car. They say the driver slid into a snowbank near 9th Street and 9th Avenue South. Three people ran away, but were caught.
Thirty-year-old Phillip Murray of Moorhead was arrested for possession of stolen property. Two passengers who were caught, were released on misdemeanor fleeing charges.
Clay County sheriff Mark Empting says that stolen car was spotted as officers were searching for two people who fled a different traffic stop. Jessica Schweninger of Hitterdal was arrested in that case -- her passenger has not been located.
ORIGINAL STORY: Multiple people were detained by police after an overnight incident in south Moorhead Monday.
A call came in around 1:30 this morning for a traffic stop near 9th Street South and 9th Avenue South. Scanner traffic indicated three people were involved, with at least two of them running away from the scene, but were later caught.
Officers also called for an ambulance because someone injured their hand.
