Plane forced to make emergency landing in Wilkin County

WILKIN COUNTY, MN (Valley News Live) - An agriculture plane flying east of Wolverton was forced to make an emergency landing after its engine seized while in the air on Saturday.

Wilkin County Sheriff's Office says the pilot made a call at about 6:43 p.m. reporting that his plane's engine seized while making a pass and made an emergency landing in a soy bean field.

The pilot was not injured and the plane took minimal damage. However, the plane was still loaded with Fungicide. Several gallons of chemicals leaked into the field. The owner of the field was notified.
