BECKER COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) - (Update: 1:00 p.m.) Minnesota State Patrol has identified James David Gunthorpe, 57, of Detroit Lakes as the man who was hit by a semi-truck along Highway 59.
(Update: 12:19 p.m.) - The victim of a deadly wreck is being identified as a 57-year-old man from Detroit Lakes.
According to Minnesota State Patrol, a 2018 Kenworth Semi-truck was traveling northbound on highway 59 Wednesday at 5:45 a.m. north of Detroit Lakes.
Troopers said the man was also on the northbound lane of traffic on Hwy 59 and that's when the semi-truck hit the pedestrian near Brandy Lake Road.
The driver of the semi was identified as 64-year-old Ronald Eugene Spradling of Pine City, Minnesota. Sitting in the passenger seat was Catherine Ann Spradling, 64, also of Pine City.
Alcohol is not a factor in the wreck, according to MSP.

The accident happened at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday between a semi-truck and a pedestrian on Highway 59 near Brandy Lake Road just north of Detroit Lakes, according to MSP.
