Park Rapids man facing multiple charges after homeowners found him lying on their couch

MOORHEAD, M.N. (KVLY) A Park Rapids man is charged with one count of felony burglary, and several misdemeanor charges of theft, trespassing, damage to property and drug possession after Moorhead residents found Holen lying on their couch last month.

Court documents say on Feb. 10, Moorhead Police were called to 3480 18th St. S. for reports of an unwanted man with frostbite inside the apartment. Police identified the man as 28-year-old Chase Holen, who they say fled the scene of a disturbance earlier that evening.

The residents told police they heard noises in their living room around two that morning. One of the residents went into the living room and found Holen lying on the couch.

Court documents say Holen had drank alcohol and milk in the living room, as well as ate food in the kitchen. The door to the apartment was unlocked when Holen entered.

When police arrived, they found Holen lying on the kitchen floor and his feet were swollen and red. His speech was broken and slurred, and he was making grunting noises. Police believed Holen was under the influence of meth.

Police searched the rest of the apartment building and found a pair of wet, gray pants in the hallway, as well as a wet flannel shirt that matched the size Holen would wear. Court documents say police found meth and a needle inside the shirt's pocket.

Holen was transported from the scene to a local hospital.
